Position Summary

The mentoring Program Manager is a pivotal leadership volunteer role responsible for the design, execution, and oversight of BPN’s mentorship initiatives. This role manages two primary pillars: the core BPN Mentorship Program (matching seasoned professionals with mentees) and the Peer-To-Peer Empowerment Partnership Program (facilitating collaborative growth between peers). The Manager ensures that all participants are supported, resources are accessible, and the programs effectively move the needle on BVI professional advancement.

Key Responsibilities

Mentorship Program Management:

  • Matching & Onboarding: Oversee the application process for mentors and mentees; strategically pair individuals based on career goals, industry, and specific needs.
  • Relationship Tracking: Monitor the progress of mentorship pairs through regular check-ins to ensure goals are being met and the relationship remains productive.
  • Resource Development: Create and distribute "Mentorship Toolkits" to provide structure, icebreakers, and goal-setting frameworks for participants using accessible document formats.

Peer-To-Peer Empowerment Partnership Management:

  • Program Oversight: Facilitate the Peer-To-Peer Empowerment Partnership, matching members at similar career stages to share resources, accountability, and lived-experience strategies.
  • Community Building: Organize "Peer Circles" or virtual meetups specifically for participants in the partnership program to share collective successes and challenges.
  • Feedback Loops: Implement surveys (via Google Forms or similar tools) to continuously improve the peer-to-peer matching algorithm and program structure.

Operational Support & Reporting:

  • Database Management: Maintain accurate records of all participants, active matches, and program alumni using BPN’s internal tracking systems (primarily Excel and Google Sheets).
  • Impact Metrics: Collect data and testimonials to measure the success of the programs, providing regular reports to Executive Leadership for grant reporting and marketing.
  • Conflict Resolution: Serve as the primary point of contact for any issues or mismatches within the mentorship or peer partnerships, providing mediation and re-matching as needed.

Collaboration & Advocacy:

  • Marketing Liaison: Work with the Communications team to promote the programs and recruit new mentors from diverse professional backgrounds.
  • Accessibility Oversight: Ensure all program materials, matching forms, and communication channels are fully accessible to screen reader users and those with low vision.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in program management, human resources, coaching, or a related field.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Forms) are required for data tracking and document creation.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; ability to communicate effectively with professionals at all levels.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in managing data and tracking multiple relationships simultaneously.
